Cello, guitar and bass lessons, composition and songwriting lessons with cellist and composer Tom Kersey. Classical, jazz, rock, avant-garde, improvisation, theory, composition and more. 

Tom has been teaching music to students of all ages and abilities for over ten years and offers private lessons at his home in Tampa's historic neighborhood Seminole Heights. His main focus is cello, guitar and composition, and he has also taught bass, violin, viola and piano.

Mr. Kersey's lesson curriculum integrates technique and musicality, improvisation, theory, and composition in a wide variety of styles including classical, jazz, rock, avant-garde and more. Lessons are tailored to each student, with areas of concentration determined by each student's individual needs and interests.

$50 for sixty minute session
$30 for thirty minute session

Flexible scheduling available. Sliding-scale rates available based on need and the student's level of interest and commitment. 

••About the artist••
Mr. Kersey's professional experience includes performances and recording sessions in a wide variety of styles Including classical, jazz, rock, orchestral and chamber music, avant-garde, jazz fusion, free improvisation, Celtic, Latin, pop, and folk music.

Tom has composed and arranged music for orchestra, string quartet and other classical chamber ensembles, rock band, jazz combos, solo cello, percussion ensemble, electronic media and more, and has had compositions performed by the Florida Orchestra, and at Symphony space in New York City.
